Single Point of Contact
Single Point of Contact was set up in September 2005 in conjunction with the North Devon Primary Care Trust (PCT). The Single Point of Contact (SPOC) service is available Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. Telephone 01271 314332
The key objectives of SPOC are:
- To provide the patients of North Devon with a SPOC to access a range of transport services.
- To reduce / eliminate the burden on general practice of arranging patient transport.
- To ensure that patients are only offered NHS provided transport if there is a real health need as defined by the eligibility criteria.
GND have worked closely with the PCT and through effective monitoring and review of the call demand and enquiry status have and are continuing to work closely with the PCT and Acute Trust towards developing improvements and flexibility in the whole of transport to health framework both locally and nationally.
