Go North Devon launch Crowdfunding Project with Aviva
The team at Go North Devon are excited to announce that they have recently been accepted into Aviva’s Community Fund Project to help them raise £5,000 for the Cancer Care Car service through crowdfunding.
This local service supports cancer patients who need to get to hospital for chemotherapy and essential cancer related appointments at hospitals in North Devon. Every donation made will have a positive impact on the lives of local cancer patients who would otherwise struggle to get to their hospital appointment due to a lack of transport in this predominately rural area. Ring & Ride Service Update 26/06/20
Due to current social distancing guidelines and to protect our clients and staff during the coronavirus outbreak we are unable to resume our Ring & Ride service at this time. The service remains suspended until further notice.
At Go North Devon your safety is our top priority.
Like many voluntary and community groups across the UK, we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and following the advice provided by the NHS and UK Government.
We have also introduced a series of measures to protect our clients and colleagues, including:
- Reinforcing our comprehensive cleaning regime on our vehicles, wheelchairs and scooters and at the Shopmobility Centre.
- Increasing the frequency of cleaning, particularly of surfaces that are often touched, such as seat belts (tongue/buckle/webbing), door handles (inside and out), grab rails, scooters and wheelchairs (controls/handles/seat lever).
- Ensuring all toilet facilities are continually topped up with soap.
- Unfortunately, we have been unable to source hand sanitiser.
It is hard to keep up to date with the changing advice and news about coronavirus.
If you are concerned or have symptoms use the NHS 111 online service: https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do.
Use this service if:
You think you might have coronavirus;
In the last 14 days you’ve been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus;
You’ve been in close contact with someone with coronavirus.
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.
Like the common cold, coronavirus infection usually occurs through close contact with a person with novel coronavirus via cough, sneezes or hand contact. A person can also catch the virus by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands.
